Abbas Massoumi's charity work started at a young age of 21. He spent his life’s savings to rebuild 28 homes destroyed by a flood in his birthplace, a village on the outskirts of Tehran. This lifetime sense of loyalty to his birthplace is still prevalent in the work that he continues to do there to this day. He has never lost sight of his humble beginnings and has given back to this community, a place where he faced hardship but strived forward to achieve his lofty goals. The people of Naragh are thankful for the efforts of Mr. Massoumi. He has single handedly changed the infrastructure of this once remote village and placed it on the map.
His charitable works have flourished alongside his business ventures. They push forward together in harmony reaching a unified goal. His two major contributions have been in the fields of health-care and education in Iran, which are the backbone of any community.
His two most noted philanthropic works are:

1) Naragh University:
In 1991, he founded Naragh University. The university is located on 50 acres of land and started with classes in 3 majors and up to a Bachelor's degree.
Today, the university has expanded to 27 majors and now offers master degrees. There are currently 7000 students enrolled there.
The law department at the university is ranked second in Iran.

2) Massoumi Charity Foundation:
Mr. Massoumi is responsible for 200 orphaned/widowed families. He takes care of their daily needs and trains them to join the work force. All the children are well taken care of until they finish their education, even if they wish to pursue a PhD.
