The journey of the Massoumi family started in 1946 when its first tire store was established by a seventeen year-old son of an immigrant in a remote village south of Tehran, Iran. Today the company is a reputable force and has expanded to encompass businesses from investments to construction, architecture, import, export, computer technologies, farming, ball bearing as well as philantrophic work with charitable organizations. This worldwide brand which started from humble beginnings was due to the vision and drive of its founder Abbas Massoumi, the leader that steered the company to where it is today.

*1936: Age 7, Abbas Massoumi migrated to Tehran with his family.

*1946: Age 17, he opened his first store.

*1949:Age 20, he becomes the sole agent in Iran for Roadstone tires manufactured in Korea.

*1955: Aside from his tire activities, he becomes the exclusive distributor of Mercedes Benz Trucks and DOF trucks (made in Holland) in Iran.

*1962: His two younger brothers Gh. Ali Massoumi and Ramezan Massoumi join him to form the Massoumi Group and take the company to an international level.

*1970: The Massoumi Group wins the Korean government’s award of top 10 exporter of Korean products.

 

*1972: The company acquires Good Year and Sumitomo tire brands.

*1978: The Massoumi Group starts negotiations with Sumitomo in Japan to build a plant in Iran. The project fails due to revolution in Iran.

*1980: Massoumi Group moves its headquarters to Dubai, United Arab Emirates to ease the financial transactions among his businesses.

*1982: Spearheads three manufacturing ventures: manufacturing of a watch line in Korea called Saiko, manufacturing of Taiwanese sneakers called Phoenix and a clothing factory in Malaysia.

*1983: Building of a theme park in Houston, Texas, his first unsuccessful venture.

*1984: Second generation Massoumi, Mohammad Reza, MBA graduate from U.S, , joins the group.

*1985: The Massoumi Group starts a real estate investment in Orange County, California by developing two rental communities comprising of 500 villas. They were both sold at the height of the real estate boom in 2003.

*1991: The Group starts a construction company in Iran.

*1992: The 1000 Acres land that was once purchased for tire manufacturing factory is developed to pistachio farming.

*2003: Another second generation Massoumi, Hassan Massoumi,  Swiss and U.S. educated and magazine publisher in Miami, Florida joins the group.

*2004: Hassan Massoumi merges the different companies yet broadens their group activities.

*2007: Hassan Massoumi officially becomes the CEO of the Massoumi Group.
